Since the beginning of its development, in the first clinical studies, CoronaVac has been shown to be an extremely safe vaccine – and a third dose would be no different. This is what the director of pharmacovigilance at Instituto Butantan, Alexander Precioso, points out. The vaccine from Butantan and Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac was a pioneer in immunization against Covid-19 in Brazil.
“All evaluations show that immunization with two doses is safe – and there is consensus that the third dose will only bring more benefits. We don't have any concerns from the point of view of safety”, reinforces Alexander.
International research proving the effectiveness of the CoronaVac booster dose will be presented during the CoronaVac Symposium on December 7, 8 and 9. Organized by Butantan and Sinovac, the event (free of charge) will bring together Brazilian scientists and specialists from the United States, Turkey, Chile, China and Spain. It will be carried out in online format and will have simultaneous translation into Portuguese.
